| This plane is a redesign of composite Twinjet. Different thinner airfoils were used.
FLIGHT REPORT: System was twin Kyosho Fans, twin Kyosho AP29L motors, 14 CP1700 cell battery, Castle Pegasus 35 ESC, seperate 750 ma. NIMH receiver battery. Two servos Futaba 3101. AUW was right at 4 lbs (64 ozs). The motors and batteries were wired in series, the motors were only seeing 7 cells. Amp draw was 35 amps at full throttle on the 14 cell pack. Flights were excellent. The thinner wing and new airfoils worked great. No bad tendancies, no snap feelings on low speed flight. Flight times were easily 3 1/2 to 4 minutes. Plane flies very well at 3/4 throttle. Because of tall grass at the flying site, landings were interesting. The missile rails on the wing tips snag the grass and stop the plane almost instantly. HERE IS A VIDEO CLIP OF THE FIRST FLIGHT ON THE LOW POWER SET UP. Here is a 2.8 mb Real Player video clip of the flight using a 14 cell zapped CP1700 pack in the CUDA EDF. You will need Real Player V.8 to play it. Click here for CUDA EDF flight from take off to landing video clip file size 2.8mb |
