SOFTWARE :
Cross platform capabilities are divided by functionality. Macintosh capabilities cover the scope of graphics development and 3D animation. PC capabilities stay mostly in the domain of Feature based CAD(Solidworks, and Ashlar Vellum 2D 3D CAD). Macintosh systems still outweigh PC systems in the graphic development area.

Note: Not all 3D modelers are the same and some do certain jobs better than others. These models can also be imported into programs like Solidworks. Animation modelers are surface modelers and can be used to sketch 3D shapes and are generally faster to generate than a solid modeler like Solidworks.
